So when I first saw this prompt, I wasn’t sure how to go about it so I posted the question on my facebook and this is what I received back as an answer:
So many different answers. What inspires me changes daily with my situation, things going on, etc. Not really surprising since I’m not one to easily make up my mind.
But a few things that truly do inspire me everyday is of course my Twiggy; my daughter Luna. She is currently with a (wonderful) foster family and she has taken the changes pretty well considering she is only two and a half years old. Every time I see her, she seems to have learned something new and is always full of smiles. It inspires me to push foreward to do what I need to do (no matter how hard it is) to get a safer place to live so we can get her back.
My partner Lorrie is a big inspiration as well. Not just the fact they deal with my emotional baggage, but they are in their md-40s and still working on their transition. A lot of obstacles stand in their way, but they still push foreward to become who they truly are. They are so brave and I admire them for it.
My (step)son Zech. He has recently turned 18 and unlike many 18 year olds, he doesnt want to grow up. I don’t mean in a “peter pan syndrome” kind of way, but in a “being a kid is a good thing; lets not grow up so fast because adulting can suck and isnt nearly as much fun as we were led to believe” kind of way. He understands once you hit adulthood there is no going back. Once you Adult, you have to Adult forever… Its nice to see the “innocence of a child” through someone who is nearly an adult. It is hard to explain.
Other things that tend to inspire me are:
Of course Nature Extremes. Double rainbows, triple tornandos, several strings of lighting… Nature is a magnificent wonderous thing. While it general it does inspire, the extremes are awe-inspiring.
Once I get thinking, this list could go on for ages. Friends, quotes, music, writing, my Wiccan faith, animals, random things… If I try, I’m sure everything could be inspirational to me…
